We started The Skatepark Mission with a simple belief: skateboarding should be accessible to everyone.
Through skateboarding, education and community, we help young people discover confidence, creativity, resilience and a bigger future.
01 — OUR STORY
We started The Skatepark Mission with a simple belief: skateboarding should be accessible to everyone.
It doesn't matter where you come from, how old you are, what you look like, how much experience you have, or whether you've ever stepped on a skateboard before. Everyone deserves the opportunity to discover the freedom, confidence, creativity, and community that skateboarding can bring.
From the very beginning, we wanted to create more than just a place to skate.
02 — CREATING SPACE FOR GIRLS
Getting girls on the skateboard has been a priority since we began.
We noticed that many girls were interested in skateboarding but didn't always feel confident enough to take that first step. Some would watch from the side. Some were nervous about falling. Others simply didn't see enough people like themselves represented in the skatepark.
We wanted to change that.
Today, 40% of our students are girls, and we couldn't be more proud of the community that has grown around them.
It's about the girl who arrives at her first session nervous to step onto a board — and the moment that beginner is helping someone else learn.

03 — MORE THAN SKATEBOARDING
At The Skatepark Mission, we believe skateboarding is about much more than learning tricks.
It's about confidence, resilience, creativity, friendship, education, and belonging.
When a girl learns to skateboard, she is also learning how to face challenges. She learns that falling doesn't mean failing. She learns that progress takes time. She learns that everyone starts somewhere.
But talent and determination are not always enough. For many of the girls we work with, everyday challenges can stand in the way of education, sport, health, and simply feeling confident about themselves.
That's why our mission goes beyond the skateboard. We want to support girls as whole people — helping create opportunities for them to learn, participate, grow, and dream about their futures.
04 — YOUR DONATION
You don't have to change the whole world at once. Sometimes change starts with one skateboard, one school uniform, one pack of sanitary pads, one set of clothes, or one girl being given the opportunity to continue her education.
$100 can help provide a girl with a complete skateboard. It's an opportunity to learn, belong and discover a passion that can stay with her for years.
Give $100 →$300 can help a girl return to school. Your support can help remove financial barriers and keep a girl learning and working toward her dreams.
Give $300 →$1,000 can help provide sanitary pads for girls at each skatepark we serve. Support can help girls participate in school, sport and community life.
Give $1,000 →$2,000 can help provide good-quality clothing for girls, including clothing that reflects and celebrates their African identity and culture.
Give $2,000 →BE PART OF THE MOVEMENT
When you support The Skatepark Mission, you are not simply donating to skateboarding. You are helping build confidence, remove barriers and create a community where girls can learn, skate, study, grow and dream.
05 — JOIN OUR MISSION
We believe every girl deserves access to education, dignity, participation, a safe and welcoming community, and the chance to dream about a bigger future.
Through skateboarding, we are building a movement that brings girls together and creates opportunities far beyond the skatepark.
You can be part of that movement.
